Safety is important
With the growing popularity of Lithium-ion batteries in different industries such as light electric vehicles (motorcycle, battery swapping, EV–L7, LEV) or data center UPS systems, the importance of battery's functional safety is becoming more relevant. Due to their high energy density, Lithium-ion batteries are susceptible to overheating and extremely sensitive to high temperatures. Outgassing and flames are potential hazards.
The Idneo BMS builds a layer of intelligence into the battery to help with real-time diagnostics and performance monitoring, as well as to predict abnormal usage or conditions. These features of Idneo BMS strengthen the safety integrity level equivalent to standards IEC-61508 SIL-1 (industrial applications) or ISO-26262 ASIL-C (automotive applications).
