Idneo Leads RISCCOM Project to Boost UWB and RISC-V Technology
Idneo has taken the lead in the RISCCOM project, assuming high-level coordination of consortium activities and managing relationships with the CDTI. We recall that this initiative is fully dedicated to developing advanced wireless communication systems based on RISC-V technology.
Currently, the project is in the functional validation phase for the prototypes developed by the participating companies. Internally, Idneo has developed its first platform that enables the use of Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology for in-cabin applications, an important advancement to improve safety and efficiency in vehicles, aiming to add value to other UWB oriented applications as the PKE (Passive Keyless Entry)
Moreover, UWB technology has been successfully validated for iCM (inCabin Monitoring) applications, with the functional demo of LPD/CPD (Life Presence Detection / Child Presence Detection) now available. This demo includes graphics that display the presence of occupants, including their breathing rates, within the cabin and in the near surroundings. These validations have been made possible thanks to the comprehensive tests conducted on the DemoCar at Idneo, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the system.
The consortium is preparing to enter the final phase of the project, where functional tests will be conducted to validate the microelectronic system with RISC-V architecture and UWB communications.
With this new responsibility, Idneo strengthens its commitment to technological innovation and solidifies its role as a leader in the development of advanced mobility solutions for the future.
This project, which is part of the Misiones PERTE Chip initiatives, funded by CDTI (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación) and is financed by NextGeneration EU, aims primarily at the technical and functional definition and implementation of a microelectronic system based on digital and analog radio frequency technology.
